Fundraiser Proves to be Successful

Last Tuesday, the junior class of IGA raised 192.1 YTL by selling various snacks and drinks during the high school fair.

On October 28th, IGA hosted a high school fair starting at 12:15. All high school students were required to attend and many parents also joined the fair to learn more about various exams and classes. The junior class took this opportunity to hold a fundraiser.

The fundraiser was held to raise money for the seniors at the end of the year. It has become an IGA tradition for the junior class to hold a Senior Banquet during the last week of the school year in honor of the graduating twelfth graders. As a result, the present junior class has already started to plan ways of raising money for this coming-up event.

The menu was composed of many different snacks, including crepes, cake, and popcorn. Drinks such as coffee and apple cider were also offered. The total profit from this fundraiser was 192.1 YTL. Emily Yount, a junior who participated in this fundraiser, said, “I was extremely surprised with how much money we raised.”

Almost every student from the junior class participated, whether it was taking orders, taking care of money or working in the kitchen. Though it was a hard and chaotic job, it was also a very fun and an enjoyable time for the juniors. Dany Reber, another participant, said, “It was a wonderfully enhancing experience.”

Though most students thought this fundraiser was a major success, there were many complaints from the staff about the mess created in the kitchen. Dishes were not properly washed, crumbs were left lying on the counters, and the trashcans were overflowing with trash. The juniors have promised to do better at clean up for their next fund-raising event.
